The project Programmed Development of Ljubljana Airport envisages the establishment of a regional multimodal logistics center and the establishment of optimal transport links to nearby centers along with developing primary activity of the airport.
Given the tendencies of development the project is divided into the following segments :
- Site of the existing and future expanded terminal with accompanying programs and the development of parallel programs and alternative transport connections,
- Area for the development of hotel, shopping, recreation and business center of the north-west of the existing complex with a terminal and business applications,
- Area of the existing runway with accompanying programs ,
- Area of business development , logistics , hotel and manufacturing activities to the east of the existing programs on the north side of the runway,
- Area for the development of sports-recreational programs to the east of the airport,
- Area of development of programs the Ministry of Defense on the east side south of the runway,
- Area of development of multimodal complex between the runway and the highway and the area of transport infrastructure which is linked to the airport.
