The
building represents a sizeable monofunctional structure situated
on a key location. To reduce its impact, the volume is dematerialised
with a continuous façade sheath that envelops and softens the
structure. Translucent polycarbonate panels span entire floor
height, varying in width and angle, with different size gaps
between them to allow for good natural ventilation. Thus, the
border between outside and inside is expanded into a field of
facade effects: impact of lights from within and without and
the dynamic variations of rhythm and polyreflection of the façade
panels. The static form on top of the building is a homage to
architect Pleènik, referencing his composition of nearby Croatia
square.
